My second and final beer from David (@broadfordbrewer) at Broadford Brewery and this Double IPA is an absolute beast of a beer.
It pours a beautiful amber and holds its little bubbly head up high.
The aroma is drunken foam sweets, shrimps and bananas in hard booze if you like.
Hangerhead is hop heavy and so intensely bitter dry that my face actually fell off and is currently being held on with masking tape straps while I await the plastic surgeon.
Caramel and honey malts float around looking for somewhere safe to hide but are constantly found and beaten into submission by a gang that apparently hates everyone except for the foolish few who enjoy their hops in chainmail.
I for one fall into that category as I sit here with my smile being drawn on by a nurse.
I may have said this before but I wish I could swap a few of our home brewers with some of the “proper” brewers out there as they walk all over them.
This is a wonderfully painful beer.
