My first real disappointment from Mikkeller and not because it’s bad in any way.
In fact it’s rather nice.
I’m disappointed because I couldn’t really discern any difference between this and normal Galena that I reviewed the other day.
The malt taste the same.
The hops taste the same.
It’s wasn’t until afterwards that I did some research and found that,

“Super Galena is comparable to Galena in its aroma and bitterness profile, but offers a substantially higher yield and complete resistance to all current hop powdery mildew strains found in the US.”

Apart from wanting to be a completist I fail to see the reason for Mikkeller brewing a single hop beer with both Galena and Super Galena in the same range and I’m pretty sure there’ll be one o two other people who buy these together and feel slightly hard done by when they open them and find out.
