Left Hand Brewing Co. Well Played (6.8%)

From its deep and sticky redwood resin to its lip puckeringly dry bitter finish, I love this beer.
In between those two little worlds of goodness there’s a pumpkin pie and honey roasted peanut, shortbread and toffee malt, all rich and chewy and, to be honest, rather sexy, and then there are hops.
Miles and miles of hops that grab you with woody rolling tobacco, marmalade, lemon curd, pine needles and pineapple, freshly varnished school desks, apple cores and steely metallic herbal leaves.
Well Played is a big beautiful and rather bullish beer that’s not for the faint hearted.
