Black Hen Brewery Peat Smoked Porter (5.9%)

Yet more proof that home brewing can be amazing.
Following my article on Fergus and his Black Hen Brewery, I recieved a lovely little Christmas present from him, and it’s astonishing.
Should home brew be this good?
Islay peat smoked malts give whisky heat and heather honey.
Rich and deep and lovely, it’s all whisky and chocolate covered sweeties.
And, as a certain high street retailer might get a dusky maiden to say in a husky voice, “This isn’t any old porter, oh no, this is a dry hopped porter.”
Steeped in First Gold and Progress, after enjoying the deep rounded fruits of this dark beer you get a long crisp, dry finish that simply makes you want another.
