Castle Rock Brewery Elsie Mo (5%)

A very nice light honey beer, pouring with a little head and a well conditioned sparkle.
The beer is bottle conditioned and light, and yet there’s a really good depth to the malt.
Rich and sticky, the burned sugar sweetness of the caramel flavours is a really good backbone that allows the hops to grab you.
Dry and lemony, cleanly crisp and full of English hedgerow flavours.
In all honesty I’ve only ever tried this brewer’s Harvest Gold before now and wasn’t impressed with it, but this is a surprisingly good beer which has made me want to investigate further.
