Magic Rock Brewing Bearded Lady (10.5%)

Do you like stout?
I like stout.
Preferably when it’s absolutely enormous and so heavy you can barely drink it.
Bearded Lady is just that stout.
A glass of beer like indelible ink topped with a foamy coffee cloud.
I’d tried a mouthful of this when I went to meet the chaps at the brewery last December but because I was driving I’d only sipped.
Tonight I took a large slug and the intensity of the Bearded Lady made my eyes cross.
The flavours are immensely powerful.
Enormous rich dark chocolate, black coffee and liquorice laced damson compote.
And then the most intensely dry and sharp hops rip across your palate with autumn leaves and raspberry coarseness.
I may have found a new girlfriend, and she’s hairy.
