Bierbrouwerij De Koningshoeven La Trappe Tripel (8%)

If you’re looking for an extended meditation on this beer you’re going to be disappointed.
This is going to be short and sweet.
La Trappe is a brilliant little bottle of beer with all the nuances to make it a classic Trappist brew.
It pours a perfectly glowing amber and holds its little bubbly head right through your drink.
You can smell orange rind infused bread dough as you lift it to yuor lips, and taking a swig will just make you smile.
A lovely honey malt is the first thing, and it’s a thick honey that clings to the roof of your mouth.
Full of spiced flavours, you are treated to a mini firework display while you munch a baguette.
The finish is bitter sweet and dry and long, full of orange peel and flower petals.
Lovely.
