Anchor Brewing Co. Summer Beer (4.5%)

As Ren & Stimpy once said, “No Sir, I don’t like it.”
I’m generally a fan of Anchor but this just leaves me cold.
I simply don’t get it.
It pours a decent enough colour and fizzes with life, but there’s next to no aroma apart from a vague lemon bitterness.
It’s thin and watery and in your mouth the flavours, though crisp and bitter, have very little definition.
Just a blast of astringent citrus and a touch of floral elderflower pith.
This beer just needs more body somehow, there’s a big watery hole where a good malty punch would feel right at home and although the label talks about the richness created by the addition of wheat, I can detect nothing of the sort.
Very disappointing.
