Butcombe Brewery Gold Bitter (4.7%)

Here we go with yet another short sharp review as I have very little to say about this except that every beer I’ve had from Butcombe has tasted the same.
It’s not that there’s anything particularly bad here, it’s just that whatever they brew is so similar that it starts to feel like the only thing that changes is the labels or the clips.
Gold is an amber beer tat smells biscuity and floral.
Its malts are caramel and honey with a peppery background and the hops are straw and elderflower with some hedgerow pithiness leading to a reasonably dry finish.
You see?
Not bad, but to my taste totally interchangeable with both Butcombe’s Bitter and Rare Breed.
