Beartown Brewery Wojtek (5.5%)

Another Great British Beer Hunt beer and another that’s uninspiring.
Wojtek is marmalade orange with an excuse for a head and a smell that’s a little bit woody with a vague ashtray background.
The malts are decently thick with caramel and cereal, while some bitter spice lurks about in the corners.
Right in the back there’s a waft of fruit juice, like someone reminding you of how apples taste.
The hops are paper thin slices of pithy elderflower dryness but the finish is really spoiled by a rather unpalatable background that reminds me a lot of the flavours I have come to associate with light strike in clear glass, and that I have heard can happen in green glass too.
