Redchurch Brewery Old Ford Export Stout (7.5%)

This is a super hoppy stout and no mistake.
Bags of vanilla, chocolate, boiled sweeties and raisins fill your nose, the head sits and bubbles invitingly, and the deepest darkest chocolate brown sits below.
And tere’s masses of vanilla in the flavour too.
It’s rich and deep and round and drips over digestive biscuit, wraps itself around thick honey and sweetens the cracked black pepper heat with its hints of cloves and all spice.
The hops are crisp and clean, with a big floral bang of crushed petals, mown lawns, hazel leaves and a birch bark dryness that leaves lychee pithiness and a lemon zest zing in the long rum tinged finish.
Very good indeed.
