I was very kindly given this bottle of beer a couple of weeks ago at The Lamb Beer & Liquor’s CAMRGB festival and what a good Saison it is.
The cap popped like a cork and the aroma was immediately spicy, fruity and rich with yeast.
There’s a biscuit at the heart of this beer that’s freshly baked, shortcake rich and coated in burned bitter sugar crystals.
And then there’s fried banana and peanut brittle and a whole load of spices.
The hops here are rather spiky, like drinking tasty bramble leaves while dewy orchard fruits provide a nice juicy body.
Finally the finish is good and dry and clean.
I like this a lot.
