I picked this up in Aldi this morning and, though not brilliant, it’s not bad for the price.
THe bottle opened with a satisfying pop but the aroma is so subtle as to be only just there with the lightest hint of caramel and mace.
The malts begin with a sweet corn tinged caramel, a little biscuit and some burned sugar syrup.
The hops are light and airy, a little bit herbal and a little bit floral and they provide a decent hedgerow tartness to what otherwise would be an uninspiring finish.
At £1.70 a bottle this isn’t a bad beer, any more though and you’d feel cheated.
