The Orkney Brewery Northern Light (4%)

Northern LightNow this is a very good session beer.
Northern Light pours a sunny straw colour with a tight ring of bubbles for a head.
The smell is apricots and pear juice, lemons and a touch of honey.
The malts here are super light, though not weak in any way.
There’s a very good Rich Tea biscuit nuttiness and just a splash of apple juice, and over this the hops are all zingy grapefruit and burned sugar, lemon rind and lawn clippings.
The finish is sharp and dry and refreshing, leaving a clean crisp bitter sherbet on your tongue.
I could happily drink this all evening.
