Thornbridge Thorny Goat (6%)

Thorny GoatBrewed in collaboration with Mountain Goat Beer of Australia, this is a supercharged vanilla tinged mocha porter.
Thorny Goat poured like a pint of espresso into my glass, its dark creamy head thick and sexy, and it gave off a smell of cappuccino and chocolate.
There’s a good solid biscuit heart to this beer, a well baked digestive sits squarely in the middle and provides a firm bran rich body that anchors the rest of the flavours.
Around it flots steaming fresh black coffee giving off that lovely slightly smoked aroma you get when you’re opening a pack of Lavazza.
Then there’s an excellent dark bitter chocolate that’s viscous and mouth coating.
And all of this is enriched with a vanilla pod earthy sweetness that leaves you feeling you’ve just eaten a lovely Belgian chocolate wrapped in the bitter dry hedgerow crunch of the hops in the finish.
