Waitrose Bavarian Hefe Weissbier (5%)

Bavarian Hefe WeissbierThis is brewed for Waitrose by Arcobrau, whose Winter Beer I have been happily buying from Aldi over Christmas, and it’s a pretty decent beer.
Especially as it’s currently £1.45 a bottle.
It pours a sunny gold with a big foamy head and smells of apricots, spices and grape juice.
There’s a nice fried banana at the heart of this Weissbier, all rich and toffee coated, gooey, sticky and yummy.
And you get a nice stinging herbal hit towards the end that really livens you up and leaves you with a crisp, lemon juice astringency in the finish.
There are better Hefe Weissbiers out there in our supermarkets, but at the price this is currently a super little bargain.
