Brouwerij De Halve Maan Straffe Hendrik (9%)

Straffe HendrikWhat to say?
This is a super Belgian Triple.
A classic beer of Bruges that pours a shining gold with a feisty head and a smell that’s heavenly, all yeasty apples and pears in a spiced crumble.
Taking a swig you get a malt that’s honey drenched waffly, a little salted butter, brioche, sticky caramel and love.
The hops are sexy lemon bitterness, a whole load of hedgerow leaves and a small bunch of herbs, a tiny bouquet garni if you’d prefer.
And in the finish you get a clean steely metallic yeast bite that sets your teeth on edge in the most delightful way.
As I said, super.
