Brouwerij Boon Geuze Mariage Parfait (8%)

Mariage ParfaitDo I really need to write about this?
Almost certainly not as this is a stone classic, but indulge me while I quickly make my own notes.
And these notes begin with a single word.
Mariage Parfait smells of warm straw and cider, twigs and cheese and the wild outdoors.
And it positively sparkles on your tongue, popping and crackling with life.
There’s a cuttingly sharp lemon juice and white wine vinegar that lashes at your tongue over a fug of mushrooms growing out of an old damp long unused tea chest, woody, fusty, musty and rich.
There’s a little bit of blue cheese too, some old straw from a barnyard floor and a finish that’s battery acid dry, lightly spiced and as fresh as a daisy.
Mariage Parfait is superb.
