Sambrook’s Brewery Pumphouse Pale Ale (4.2%)

Pumphouse Pale Ale“It smells nice and it tastes yum.”
So said my four year old daughter who likes, on occasion, to dip a finger in my beer.
And she’s right.
There’s a very nice, light apricot, lemon and straw aroma to this pale golden beer.
The malting is all shortcake and honey, a dab of caramel and a slosh of apple juice.
Over all this the hops are fruity and sharp.
Lots of elderflower dryness, citrus zest, a surprising hint of coriander, tarragon and thyme, lots of sapling wood and passion flower that guides you into it’s sharp, bitter and very pleasantly lingering finish.
As my daughter said, “Yum.”
