Brewed in collaboration with Will Torrent, award winning Patissier and Chocolatier this is, unsurprisingly, a Chocolate Stout.
What’s more it’s a rather good Chocolate Stout.
Roast Cacao is a deep purple brown beer with a tight cream head and a smell that’s all poached damsons and chocolate sauce.
The malts are chunky digestive biscuits coated in chocolate and presented with a plum preserve, everything’s round and plump and satisfying.
The hopping is very subtle, just cutting in with a snappy bramble jelly and hazelnut pithiness.
All this builds to a finish that has a soft chocolate coating to its dry brittle centre.
