Hobson’s Brewery Postman’s Knock (4.8%)

Postman's KnockI have a soft spot for Hobson’s for reasons I’ve mentioned before, and so I want to like everything they do.
And in fact it’s not that I don’t like Postman’s Knock, I just don’t find it hugely interesting.
This is a Porter with a smell of red fruits and coffee in a leather satchel, and it pours a ruby red colour.
There’s a decent treacle, coffee and cigar smoke malt, and just enough sharp nettle sting hops.
And that’s all very good, but Postman’s Knock is rather thin and as a result everything disappears rather quickly leaving you feeling there should be more.
It would appear the Postman’s knocking but his sack is empty.
