Tucher Traditionsbrauerei Bergkirchweih Festbier (6%)

Bergkirchweih FestbierThis is a completely new one to me, and weirdly I couldn’t find it on Untappd either, though I’m pretty sure many of you will be quick to tell me how much you know and love Tucher already.
Bergkirchweih Festbier is really a really good, high powered lagered beer that pours a clear shining gold with a soft compact head and smells of spiced fruity malt loaf.
There’s a lovely apple juice and honey malt, with some white pepper, mace and a little singed sugar candy, which is warmed through by a good boozy hit of alcohol.
The hops provide a floral bouquet, lots of green leafy herbs, and a sharp lemon rind bitterness that makes for a super crisp, clean and lingering fruity finish.
