Brouwerij Boon Horal’s Oude Geuze Mega Blend 2013 (7%)

Horal's Oude Geuze Mega BlendThis is perfect in the summer afternoon heat.
This “Toer De Geuze” is a blended beer made up of 3 Fonteinen, Boon, Timmermans, Oud Beersel, Lindermans, De Troch, De Cam, Hanssens and Tilquin, and as such it’s like some enormous Lambic group hug.
The Oude Geuze Blend is a warm cider yellow and smells of black tea on a damp hay bale in a farmyard.
Everything you could hope for in a Lambic is here.
A meaty mushroom fug, fresh tobacco, mown grass, lemon juice, green grape skins and a splash of white wine vinegar.
The finish is battery acid sharp, dry as a bone and crisply bitter with green crab apples and thorny brambles.
What delightful beer this is.
