A pretty decent Golden Ale (how I’ve started to hate that term), Emperor’s Whim is honey rich on first sip but it quickly turns to a good bitter tongue twisting finish.
The aroma is orchard fruits and green leaves and the malts are sticky caramel and lots of rich runny honey, crusty bread and mixed peppercorns.
The hops are spiky, sharp, herbal greenery, bramble jelly and nettle tea.
All in all a pretty good beer.
