Derventio Brewery Venus (5%)

VenusThis is a lot better than I was expecting, and considering it’s available on the shelves of Asda (at least in my area) I may well get it again.
Venus is a light straw coloured Pale Ale with a honey and orchard fruit aroma.
There’s a decent caramel and shortcake malt with a little mixed peppercorn heat on the side, and the Saaz and Hersbrucker hops give you a decent whack of herbal leaves, bramble jelly and lemon zest.
Easy drinking for its 5% weight and with a nice clean finish, Venus is a rather enjoyable beer.
