Bon Don Doon – Silly name. Probably a good reason for it, and I imagine someone will explain – is a really good beer.
It’s a light and sunny blonde straw colour and its smell is apricots and summer flowerbeds.
I like the soft brittle subtlety of the malts, all honey and bread crusts and white pepper, and the sharpness of the hops that are zingy with lime zest and grapefruit skins, and have a nice daisy and dandelion pithiness.
And then there’s a finish that’s crisp, dry and refreshing.
In a word, yum.
