Siren Craft Brew Broken Dream (6.5%)

Broken DreamThis is by far my least favourite Siren beer.
Broken Dream is a Breakfast Stout that’s all chocolate richness and coffee zing.
The beer pours a deep dark black and smells of hazelnuts, chocolate and espresso.
The malts are everything here, with lots of bitter black Lavazza, cocoa, raisins, plums and a hint of rum.
There’s some decent crunchy leaf hops too, but all this goodness is let down by the beer being flat and thin.
And then to spoil it once and for all there’s a rather unpleasant metallic taste in the finish that’s not unlike rubbing tin foil on your fillings.
What a shame when all the other Siren beers have been so good.
