Siren Craft Brew Limoncello (9.1%)

Limoncello IPAA collaboration between Siren, Mikkeller and Hill Farmstead, Limoncello IPA is absolutely astonishing.
I poured my bottle badly so in my glass the beer’s a yeasty orange soup.
And what a soup!
The smell is super fresh lemon skins, waxy, zesty, yellow and fruity.
But it’s taking a mouthful that takes your breath away.
You’re immediately hit by bitter, almost sour, fresh as a daisy lemon juice.
It’s bright and powerful and like nothing more than biting into a big, fat, juicy lemon, chewing the pips and sucking the rind.
But once you’ve swallowed, a soft, sweet caramel surfaces and tries to make everything better.
And it almost succeeds, except that by your third mouthful you can no longer feel your tongue.
I love this beer and I never want it again*.

*I do really.
