Another murky, unappetising looking beer that tastes very good, Undercurrent is a Pale Ale made with oatmeal.
It makes for a thick feeling on your tongue that seems a little incongruous against the sharp edgy bitterness of the flavours.
The malting is peanuts and toffee and woody goodness, and the hops are good and bitter with lots of mandarin and grapefruit, sherbet and jelly sweets that leave you with a puckered smile as you reach for more.
But, as with Soundwave, it’s rather ugly to look at.
