Westbrook Brewing Co. White Thai (5%)

White ThaiWestbrook Brewing’s White Thai is a Witbier spiced with lemongrass and ginger, and hopped with Sorachi Ace.
The result is a pale golden beer that smells of mixed peppercorns, candy floss and lemon curd.
There’s a bread dough yeasty centre, a little mashed banana, and some sticky caramel.
The lemongrass and ginger don’t overwhelm but instead they offer a subtle background spikiness that plays around with your tongue while the Sorachi Ace whips up lots of lemon pips and a little, almost obligatory these days, grapefruit.
If this is what Westbrook can do then I want to try some more.
