Tally-Ho is a Barley Wine and it should be a lot better than it is.
It’s not bad as such, with a big round rum and raisin and poached plum flavour, some bitter chocolate and burned treacle, Tally-Ho suggests all the right things.
You get some nice woody resinous autumnal hopping that crunches with bracken and bramble and crisp countryside walks.
But there’s no aroma save for the slightest black cherry and bran and the finish is a little bit thin and watery.
Tally-Ho could be superb but it falls short, it’s a decent enough beer that doesn’t quite deliver.
