Dorset Brewing Co. Silent Knight (5.9%)

Silent KnightSilent Knight is DBC’s wheat beer and it’s rather tasty.
Like a medium bodied Dunkel hybrid, the aroma is bananas and treacle, prunes and bran flakes.
As you drink the flavours follow suit with a big damson compote body surrounded by cooked bananas, a splash of rum, some chopped nuts, treacle and bran rich biscuits.
There’s a nice subtle sherry warmth too, and then the Bramling Cross hop come on all brittle, green and leafy, like crushing bramble leaves between your fingers.
All this, plus a meaty body, makes for drinkable and very enjoyable, dark wheat beer.
