The Kernel Waimea (5.3%)

Pale Ale WaimeaMore Kernel class.
Pale Ale Waimea is unsurprisingly a Pale Ale hopped with Waimea and it’s delicious.
Waimea gives lots of jelly sweets, peach, strawberry and orange to the smell of this beer, and does pretty much the same for the flavour.
There’s The Kernel’s usual super malting underpinning everything, tempering the bitter citrus with sweet honeycomb, salted nuts and biscuits.
It’s a mouth filling, chewy but not overbearing maltiness that allows the hops to glow in the foreground.
And glow they do.
Sharp lime leaves, satsumas, peach melba, passion fruit, nettle tea and floorboards swirl around and leave the loveliest dry, bitter, fresh finish.
In a word, yummy.
