Bristol Beer Factory La TrippAle (8.5%)

La TrippaleLa TrippAle is a collaboration between Bristol Beer Factory, Arbor Ales and Harbour Brewing and it’s a big bold beautiful beast of a beer.
Brewed with Belgian yeast, an Imperial IPA malt recipe and a shed load of American hops, what you get is something along the lines of a Double India Saison.
Yeah, I said it.
I invented a new beer category.
Or rather this beer has.
La TrippAle is earthy, metallic, wild and dirty.
Huge hits of resinous woody mango wielding grapefruit, rich meaty bready yeast and a boozy Rum Baba aroma slap you upside your head and remind you who’s boss.
Double India Saison.
A beer you’d better make a note of.
A beer that, like Black IPA before it, will be argued over by Beer Geeks in the months to come.
Or not.
I don’t care.
All I really wanted to say is that this beer is brilliant.
