Shipyard Brewing Co. IPA (5.8%)

Fuggles India Pale AleI found this in Tesco and I’m more than a little concerned that this monstrosity, imported by Marston’s, might have taken the place of my beloved Sierra Nevada Torpedo.
Brewed with Fuggles, the aroma is a floppy “Real Ale” that’s been sitting on the bar too long.
The malting is biscuity, caramelly, sort of malty.
And the hops are hoppy, but make me unhappy.
They’re one dimensional, lightly peppered lemon juice and garden leaves.
On top of this there’s an unpleasant chemical tinged aftertaste that leaves a nasty metallic bitterness.
This is really bad.
And Torpedo is gone.
It seems so unfair, and I want to cry.
