Yet another winner in the Shape Shifter series, 613 Années is a Red Biere De Garde brewed in collaboration with Brasserie St. Germain.
Pouring a lovely bright orange, the smell is Rhubarb & Custard sweets and fresh fruit salad with a touch of balsamic vinegar.
There’s a decent buttery croissant and honey malt giving 613 Années plenty of body, but this beer is all about its fruity, earthy yeast and its super spiky spicy green and herbal hops.
It’s tongue tinglingly dry but washed all over with tinned fruit cocktail juice, and the finish is knife sharp, extremely dry and absolutely super.
Vive la révolution Gallois!
