Axholme Brewing Co. Clearwater Pale Ale (4.3%)

Clearwater Pale AleAxholme’s Pale Ale is a real delight.
It’s a light amber beer with a nice creamy head and an apple and pear aroma.
The malting is a good shortcake biscuit and caramel, crunchy, chewy and satisfying, and the hops are fresh lemon juice, grapefruit zest and passion flowers, but it’s how all this works together that sets this beer apart.
As you drink your way down the glass, what starts to appear are lovely foam bananas and shrimp sweets, flying saucers and Iced Gems, all cut through with a dry, bitter, sour jelly finish.
Very good indeed.
