Brouwerij Het Anker Maneblusser (6.5%)

ManeblusserI love the label of this bottle, and the beer’s not too shabby either.
Maneblusser, named after an incident wherein the moon was mistaken for a tower on fire on a foggy night by the people of Mechelen, is a Blonde that pours with a big fluffy head and a smell that’s spicy, fruity and fresh.
Maneblusser isn’t mind blowing perhaps, but it’s a good solid Belgian beer.
There’s a soft honey coated puff pastry and vanilla malt, a very nice spicy metallic kick from the yeast, and a glug of apple juice before the hops give you a slap around the hops with thorny hedgerow, fresh herbs and zingy lemon zest, leaving you with a long dry finish.
Now, where’s my fire extinguisher?
