This “Victorian Pale Ale”, brewed to a recipe from 1884, is light and crisp and very easy to drink.
It pours a soft straw with a good frothy head, and its smell is elder flowers and lemon juice.
The malts are soft and sensuous, gently massaging you with light caramel and shortcake biscuit.
Humming away in the background is an apple and pear cordial that gives some much needed body, and over this the hops are all tropical fruit tang and zippy citrus zest.
As the label says, “Everyone should drink beer with their dinner!”
