Kona Brewing Co. Pipeline (5.3%)

PipelinePipeline is a Coffee Porter and it’s very easy to drink.
The coffee’s not as in your face as I expected it to be, it’s more of a background hum, but it’s definitely there.
It gently seeps into everything else as you drink.
And I rather like the idea of that.
The aroma is chocolate and wood and a light coffee hit, and the malts do much the same.
Chocolate coated biscuits, some stewed red fruit and a sip of black coffee make up the body of Pipeline, and across it cuts some good redwood and autumn leaf hops.
Crunchy and crisp, a hint of maple syrup and a splash of lemon juice, again tempered by the gently pervasive coffee.
Pipeline is a very nice beer indeed.
