Liverpool Organic’s Bitter is pretty good, pouring a rich copper with a small creamy head and smelling of woody orchard fruit.
There’s a nice fruitiness to the flavour too, which rounds out the crunch of the biscuity malts very nicely.
A blob of sticky toffee brings some much needed sweetness and the hops are bitter, grassy, hedgerow greenery and dry herbal tang, leaving a finish tinged with aniseed and patchouli, that’s long and bitter and satisfying.
