Pressure Drop Wu Gang Chops The Tree (3.8%)

Wu Gang Chops The TreeWu Gang is a Hefeweisse brewed with foraged herbs.
Did Pressure Drop forage for borage I wonder.
Sorry, I couldn’t help but type that sentence.
In fact I may have waited all my life to say forage for borage.
I mean, when am I ever realistically going to get another chance?
Anyway, back to the beer.
Wu Gang is superb, and has a huge amount of flavour for its relatively low ABV.
The aroma is earthy fresh undergrowth and a lovely fruity yeastiness.
There’s a very good earthiness in the flavour too, which adds a Saison feel to the beer.
The malting is just baked brioche and runny honey, and the hops are fizzy with grapefruit zest.
But it’s the herbs that really bring this beer to life.
They’re pithy and super fresh, a light dandelion and burdock background floating around peppery leaves and a zingy mint that leads you to a long dry, crisp finish.
Wonderful.
