Red Hook Brewery Long Hammer IPA (6.2%)

Long Hammer IPAWowsers.
This is good.
Really good.
It’s a big hop rocket of a beer that pours with a mist of pine resin, mint, mandarins and limes.
There’s a good Daim Bar and bran flake malt flecked with white pepper and a pinch of salt that lulls you into a false sense of security before the hop onslaught begins.
Deliciously resinous varnished redwood, lime zest, grapefruit, basil and tarragon bash away at you with pointed lemon pips until your eyes water and your tongue withers, only to soothe you with big washes of orange juice, before starting it all again and leading you off through a finish that’s as dry as licking a battery.
Wowsers.
