Autonomous is a very nice beer, a well made beer, but not a “unique beer” by any stretch of the imagination.
It’s a Best Bitter full of Fuggles and Goldings that pours a good copper colour and smells of lightly spiced apples and pears.
The malts are a crunchy digestive biscuit bran, well baked and tinged with cocoa powder, toffee and white pepper.
The hops are resinous and woody with lots of green hazelnuts, nettles, tea leaves, tobacco and a twist of lemon.
Autonomous’ finish is crisp and dry and bitter.
A very nice beer indeed, but not unique.
