Craft Rebellion 002 Mystery Beer (5.9%)

Mystery Beer 002I really like this idea.
Craft Rebellion send a mystery beer and you have to try and guess what it is.
This one is an oak aged coffee Milk Stout and it’s delicious.
The aroma is dark chocolate pudding and plum compote, very rich and very appetising.
It’s a bitter chocolate, rum and raisin, liquorice tinged beauty warmed through with brandy and a good shot of espresso.
The lactose doesn’t come on too sweet but adds a smooth thickness and the oak ageing adds a superb woody roundness.
The finish is nothing short of delicious, long and sticky and sumptuous.
So what is this beer?
My guess is that it’s By The Horns’ Milk Stout.
