This is one of those beers I had to settle in to.
Brewed in collaboration with Grassroots and Cigar City, my first mouthful of this honey and corn beer felt so harsh that I thought I might pour it away.
But on my second sip the body picked up, grew, got rounder and kissed me gently with slightly spiced sweet honey goo, freshly baked biscuits and sticky toffee.
The hops are big and very sharp indeed.
With lime and lemon rind, grapefruit zest and just a hint of mango fleshiness, this is a lovely IPA, though I’m not quite sure where the corn is.
I guess that doesn’t matter when this tastes as good as it does.
