Yet another new brewery on me, Clouded Minds’ Dolce Vita is a tidy little IPA.
It smells of peachy fruit jelly and there’s a distinct watermelon flavour washing around all over the brandy snap and rice paper of the malts.
The hops are resinous with pine sap, blasts of fresh mint and basil, chamomile tea and the ubiquitous lemon rind and grapefruit pips.
But it’s the unmistakable gentle kiss of watermelon – albeit coated in sherbet – that lept my interest right down the glass.
Very good.
