Partizan Brewing X-Ale (6.3%)

X-AleIs this a Porter?
A Scotch Ale?
A musclebound Brown Ale even?
I’m not sure where to place it, but truth be told I don’t care as it’s the best Partizan beer I’ve had in some time.
Lately I’ve found Partizan to be a bit hit and miss, but X-Ale is very good indeed.
It smells of burned toffee apples on a dying bonfire and the flavours follow suit.
Lots of blackened toast, treacle, plums and honey covered waffles.
There’s a hint of jacket potato skins and hazelnuts wrapped in an old leather belt too.
The hops are crunchy crumbly autumn garden fires, red leaves burning and singed straw with a glass of elderflower water and a squeeze of lemon.
Whatever X-Ale is, I like it.
