Red Squirrel Brewing Co. Redtail Citra (4.6%)

Redtail CitraThis I like.
In fact This I like quite a lot.
It may not be a beer that’ll, “[…] boot you up the jacksy,” to quote the bottle’s label, but it’s really rather good.
Redtail Citra pours a rich gold and smells of honey and fenceposts and lemon curd.
The malting is all Rich Tea biscuits, Garibaldis, caramel wafers and white pepper, and there’s a little peach and pear juice wafting around for good measure.
The Citra cuts across all this like lemony razor wire.
It’s splendidly sharp and lip smacking, bringing lots of lemon and grapefruit, some sherbet zip and a fistful of fresh herbs.
Very good indeed.
