Austrian Oatmeal Stout with a lovely label?
Sorted.
Baja pours a deep purple brown and smells of chocolate coated toffee apples.
There’s a lovely coffee and damson body, rich and bitter sweet, backed up by treacle toffee and burned toast that gives a good chewy dryness.
The oatmeal doesn’t give as much creaminess as I might have wished for, but there’s enough weight to be satisfying as you taste the sharp lemon, the bracken and the green tea of the hops that lead you to the espresso heavy toffee of the finish.
Rather good, and a lovely label too.
